Certis to sell PQ's biopesticide in US
The US chemical company, PQ Corporation (Valley Forge, Pennsylvania), has granted Mitsui & Co’s US biopesticide subsidiary, Certis USA (Columbia, Maryland), the right to reintroduce and distribute the potassium silicate-based biopesticide, Sil-Matrix, in US agricultural markets. Sil-Matrix is registered for use on grapevines, fruit, nuts and vegetables for the prevention of various diseases and the suppression of aphids, whiteflies and mites. The product acts as a physical barrier and desiccant. Certis has added six products to its portfolio in the last six months, giving it the fastest-growing biopesticide range in the US, the company says.
