DuPont to pay for repackaging violation

DuPont has agreed to pay a civil penalty of $15,600 for failing to have proper authorisation for the US company, Central Elevator (Silex, Missouri), to repackage and sell its herbicide, Steadfast (nicosulfuron + rimsulfuron). The violation came to light following an inspection of Central Elevator’s facilities in May 2009, the EPA points out. Without an authorisation agreement in place, repackaged products are considered to be unregistered, it adds.
