Dow/DuPont resolve GM maize dispute
Dow AgroSciences and DuPont seed subsidiary Pioneer Hi-Bred International have resolved a dispute over Pioneer’s right to market genetically modified insect-resistant Herculex 1 maize to regional US seed companies through its Proaccess strategy. Pioneer will continue to distribute the seed but with modified packaging. Dow subsidiary Mycogen Seeds had claimed that the practice interfered with its exclusive right to license the technology to those companies. Mycogen won a partial summary judgement in the case in November 2010 ( Agrow No 605, p 15).
