Brazil OKs first reference points for organic pesticides
The Brazilian authorities have so far approved four “specification references” of organic pesticides under a new regime. The development follows a recent joint resolution from three Ministries (Agriculture, the Environment and Health) separating the registration system for pesticide products for use in organic and conventional crop farming (see this issue). A specification reference is a document that includes the active ingredient, components, type of formulation and intended use that can be followed by manufacturers interested in offering the product. Any company would be able to apply to market a product based upon it.
