Arysta launches Yokafume in Japan
Arysta LifeScience has launched its iodomethane-based fumigant, Yokafume, for commercial use in Japan. The fumigant was registered for disease, weed and pest control on tomatoes and melons in Japan in 2009 ( Agrow No 579, p 23). It is also approved for use on chrysanthemums and carnations, with an expansion under way for use on other crops, such as ginger and myoga. More than 400 technical advisers and over 150 farmers have been trained on the safe use of Yokafume, Arysta points out.
