Arysta gains global deal on Bayer fungicide
Arysta LifeScience has gained global licensing and sales rights to Bayer CropScience’s strobilurin fungicide, fluoxastrobin. The companies’ deal grants Arysta exclusive access to the active ingredient for all crop and non-crop applications except seed treatments and “certain proprietary Bayer mixtures”. Arysta first licensed fluoxastrobin from Bayer in 2005 for development in the US, Canada and Japan ( Agrow No 471, p 1), and has launched two brands based on the ai, Disarm and Evito. The company intends to continue with those and develop new products in each of its six global business units for use on maize, soybeans wheat, potatoes, vegetables, sugar cane, pome fruit and turf. The ai's first global approval was in 2004 in the UK, for use on cereals and oilseed rape ( Agrow No 464, p 22).
