Bayer stops export of counterfeit Chinese iodosulfuron
Bayer CropScience has successfully prevented a shipment of counterfeit iodosulfuron herbicide, for which Bayer holds intellectual property rights in China, from leaving the Chinese port of Tianjin. The iodosulfuron was produced illegally by the Chinese companies, Dagro Chemical Company and Qunye Chemical Company, and was bound for the Middle East. Under a court order issued in Tianjin, the companies are forbidden from manufacturing and marketing the herbicide, and must immediately destroy any remaining inventories of the product. They have also been ordered to pay compensation to Bayer.
