Paraguay seizes banned agchems
Paraguayan authorities seized banned pesticides two months ago at the national agrochemical company, Mario Commercial (Ita). It was part of an operation under the auspices of the Paraguayan plant health and seed quality service, the Senave, and led by its director of pesticide operations. The Senave found banned pesticides, seizing around 50 fungicide and insecticide products in various types of container, including some 527 glass flasks. The Senave says that it is to carry out further inspections across the country, and will report any infractions of sale or proper use of pesticides. Details of the background to the raid have been passed on to the authority’s legal team to initiate trial proceedings.
