ECHA "lacks basic tools for risk assessment of nanoparticles"

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is, once again, subject to debate over its handling of the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals. According to policy advisor for the Green Party Axel Singhofen, the REACH legislation, with respect to nanoparticles, is above all at fault, but as the management of the substances falls under ECHA's responsibility, the agency also has a part to play.
