House approves reauthorization of federal nanotech program

The House of Representatives today approved legislation to reauthorize and revise the federal nanotechnology program, including language requiring a new national strategy to prioritize research of the environmental, health and safety risks of the emerging field. Lawmakers passed the bill by a margin of 407-6, demonstrating broad bipartisan support for the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI).
