Annette Whiteford to chair the NIAA
Dr Annette Whiteford was elected as chairman of the board for the US National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA) at the Association’s annual Congress late last month in Denver, Colorado. She is the first woman to hold the post, which is for a three-year term. Dr Whiteford is state veterinarian and director, animal health and food safety services for the California Department of Food and Agriculture. Previously NIAA vice-chair, she replaces Dr Robert Fourdraine in the office.
