Improvac approved in Japan

Pfizer Animal Health has received approval to market Improvac in Japan, the company has announced. The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fishery (JMAFF) considers the product, a “boar taint” vaccine offered as an alternative to the physical castration of pigs, safe and effective for use by veterinarians. According to Pfizer, the product has been used in pig farming for 10 years, and Japan is now the 55th country to approve its use.
