Merial and GenVec to develop swine vaccines
Merial and GenVec have extended their collaboration to develop veterinary vaccines using GenVec's adenoviral vector technology. In December 2010, the companies announced plans to develop a vaccine for use against foot and mouth disease. Under a new agreement, Merial has the right to evaluate the technology for applications in other areas of animal health. The company says it will start by developing swine vaccines, though it has not revealed which diseases it intends to target.
