FEDESA urges trade mark flexibility:
European industry federation FEDESA has pleaded for flexibility over trade marks for animal health products in Europe. It is suspected that the EMEA is pressing for a single standard trade mark for products throughout Europe. There is no fixed legal basis for this and the European Commission would not hold up a veterinary approval for the sake of trade mark standardisation, the industry believes. However, the issue is said to have become fairly acute in the human health sector, and is simmering in the veterinary industry. Companies should have a choice, believes the industry federation.
