H1N1 in commercial pig herd in US
The first case of H1N1 infection in a commercial swine herd in the United States has been confirmed by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the state of Indiana. According to the USDA, the affected pigs and stockmen have recovered fully. The first case of the virus in pigs in the US was reported last month, but it involved animals from Minnesota exhibited at a trade fair. Such animals have much more contact with humans and do not interact with commercial herds.
