BSE: OIE scraps age limit for beef trade

The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) has announced the end of age limits for international beef trading as a way of controlling bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).During the OIE General Assembly in Paris, the organization said it would allow exports of boneless beef of all ages. An earlier guideline had limited free trade in beef to boneless meat from animals under 30 months old.
