Alfaxan launched across Europe
Vetoquinol is rolling out the anesthetic Alfaxan across Europe, following the product's launch in the UK last year. The French company expects the product to be registered in France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland shortly. Alfaxan is an injectable anesthetic agent for induction and maintenance of general anesthesia in dogs and cats. Vetoquinol says that the active steroid molecule alfaxalone prevents the release of histamine in animals. Alfaxan is produced by Australian company Jurox, and has been on the Australian and New Zealand market for a number of years. nathalie.caplet@yahoo.com
