OIE launches new database
The World Organization for Animal Health, the OIE, is improving the accessibility of its animal health data with the launch of WAHID, the World Animal Health Information Database. The database is available online via the OIE website, and provides access to data gathered through the online notification system, which the organization launched last April. The new web interface is to replace Handistatus II, whichcompiles data from 1996 to 2004. Handistatus II will be taken out of action when the data is transferred to the more user-friendly WAHID.
