EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) to study Salmonella in pigs

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is to assess the risk to public health posed by Salmonella in pigs. The research, much of which will be outsourced to a consortium of European institutes, could form the basis for new measures to tackle Salmonella, such as targets for the reduction of the bacteria in pigs.
