Convenia available in Japan
Pfizer Animal Health's Convenia Injection (cefovecin), which treats bacterial skin infection in dogs and cats, is now available in Japan. The injection protects against Staphylococcus aureus, S intermedius, S simulans, Proteus mirabilis and Pasteurella multocida. The product is effective for up to14 days after initial administration to ensure compliance. Before the launch in Japan, Pfizer held lectures for small animal practitioners at several major cities. Dr Jill Maddison of the UK's Royal Veterinary College highlighted the importance of compliance with medication in small animals.
