Schering-Plough supports project to fight rabies in India
Schering-Plough is sponsoring an initiative to fight rabies in India. The company will donate rabies vaccines made by its Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health business, and will offer expertise and financial support to educational initiatives in ten villages around Bangalore and Pune. With guidance from the non-profit Global Alliance for Rabies Control, the project aims to raise awareness about the disease in local populations. “Our company has a commitment to reducing the prevalence of rabies in vulnerable places around the world, and these new initiatives in India demonstrate continuing support of eradication efforts,” said Fred Hassan, chairman and CEO of Schering-Plough.
