PEOPLE - New president of UK's Pig Veterinary Society:
A Scottish veterinary researcher with over two decades of experience in pig medicine and pathology is the new president of the UK's Pig Veterinary Society. Dr Jill Thomson, currently veterinary center manager at the Scottish Agricultural College's Edinburgh Disease Surveillance Center has been elected to the post. Dr Thomson graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1974 and gained her PhD at Edinburgh University in 1982. Her specialist area of research is enteric diseases of pigs. She succeeds veterinary consultant Dr David Burch.
